A custom 14 inch black-glass LCD touch display assembly designed for premium coffee vending machines, beverage terminals and commercial self-service equipment. It integrates FHD LCD, capacitive touch, 3.0mm tempered cover glass, through-hole design, HDMI-compatible driver board and matched cables into one complete solution.

A European developer of premium self-service coffee machines was working on a new generation of terminals for hotels, office buildings, shopping malls and airport lounges. The machine needed a clean black front surface, smooth touch operation and a display interface that could blend naturally into the equipment housing.
At first, the requirement looked simple: a 14 inch touch display. But a standard LCD module could only solve the display function. It could not provide the finished front-panel appearance the customer wanted. The screen still looked like a component installed inside the machine, instead of becoming part of the machine itself.
The customer needed a complete black glass touch display assembly, including LCD, capacitive touch panel, customized cover glass, logo area, through-hole design, driver board and matched cables.
The original structure was close to the final design, but the lower part of the front panel still needed more space for the machine housing. Based on the updated drawing, the cover glass was changed to a larger 400 × 425mm design, extending the lower area by 50mm compared with the previous version.
In a custom touch display assembly, this is not just a glass size change. Once the cover glass outline changes, the LCD visible area, touch sensor position, FPC routing, black silk printing area, white logo area, φ18 through-hole position, cable layout and final assembly structure all need to be checked again.
So we did not simply make the glass longer. We rebuilt the full display assembly around the final machine structure.
Because smart coffee machines are often placed in public commercial environments, the front panel needs to be stronger than a normal thin touch cover. It may face frequent user operation, daily cleaning and minor accidental impact during long-term use.
For this project, we used 3.0mm fully tempered cover glass to create a thicker and more durable black-glass front surface. It helped protect the display area during daily commercial use, while giving the machine a cleaner and more premium appearance.
From the outside, the machine no longer looked like it had a framed screen installed inside. It presented one complete black glass touch control panel.

After the drawing was confirmed, the customized samples were produced for prototype testing. When the engineering team connected the display assembly to the coffee machine prototype, the screen lit up properly, the touch function responded smoothly, and the black glass front panel matched the machine design.
The 14 inch FHD screen displayed the coffee menu clearly. The 3.0mm black tempered glass gave the terminal a stronger commercial appearance. The white logo area supported the brand design, and the φ18 through-hole matched the reserved mechanical structure.
After the sample test was approved, the customer moved forward with regular production planning. The estimated annual demand is around 6,000–8,000 pieces, with quarterly demand expected to be around 2,000–3,000 pieces depending on the production schedule. For this customized display assembly, our MOQ starts from 500 pieces.

A clear 14 inch FHD display can show drink menus, product images, payment steps, machine status and maintenance information.
